Back by popular demand, the rules for challenging up remain the same except I removed the rule stating that a new player must follow the guidelines. I have updated the rule page to reflect it. It's rule number 5 and now reads:
The top 30 ranked players may only challenge 10 positions up; players ranked 31-60 may challenge 20 positions up; and players ranked 61 and below may challenge 30 positions up. This rule is at the discretion of the higher ranked player to invoke. They higher ranked player has the right to accept any match challenge regardless of the ranking of the lower ranked player.
We're into the last week before FREEFALL occurs. Play by July 13th, or you'll tumble to the bottom of the ladder. A fate any devoted tennis player wants to avoid. AHHHHHHHH... I'm falling and I could have played up!
If you are challenged to play a match, you are expected to reply to each challenge. I've been getting feedback that some players are not honoring that. Help me out by responding to challenges and setting up a match. That's the purpose of the ladder. Everyone has busy lives, so if you are not available in the short-run, set something up in the future, even if it's a few weeks out.
Everyone's cooperation with this is appreciated.
Chris is the first player to finish 10 matches this year. As a result, his ranking was bumped up 10 places.
Our next incentive goes to the player that reports the 100th match played this year. They will get a 5 place bump up. One cannot get bumped into the top 10.
